Rallies are held on the first Sunday of every month with the exception of January when we don’t have one.
Rallies commence at 9:30am with gear check conducted by our instructors and our first lesson at 10.00am. We encourage members to arrive by 9:00am, allowing plenty of time to prepar and saddle up.
A typical rally consists of three 45 minute riding sessions and a 30 minute theory session.
- Session 1 - 10:00 - 10:45
- Session 2 - 11:00 - 11:45
- Lunch - 12:00 - 12:30
- Theory - 12:30 - 1:00
- Session 3 - 1:15 - 2:00
To prepare for each rally, riders should check their rally group, consult the rally plan
Members are instructed in groups based on the ability of the horse and rider combination. The DC & Instructors work hard to ensure that our riders are placed in groups that allow the group to operate at a similar level where everyone can learn, be challenged and enjoy the rally.
Please remember that pony club rallies are
- not a private lesson
- not intended to provide the same level of instruction as a private lesson
- a group lesson that can flow tremendously, and sometimes they don’t!
